

HYDERABAD: As many as 122 IPS probationers of the 69 RR (Regular Recruit) at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVP NPA) have finished their 45-week training and are ready to join the force. 75 IPS probationers are engineering graduates, and 21 are women.
Dikshant parade is the culmination of the eleven-month training of IPS probationers in the academy. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh would be the chief guest for the Dikshant parade to be held on October 30 on the NPA premises. The academy director general DR Doley Barman said that the IPS probationers and 14 foreign officers would participate in parade.
“While four IPS probationers — Satish Kumar S, (Tamil Nadu), Sumit Sunil Garud (Maharashtra), Vakul Jindal (Punjab) and Y Rishanth Reddy (Telangana) — have been allotted to Andhra Pradesh, three IPS probationers Potharaju Sai Chaitanya (Andhra Pradesh), Rajesh Chandra (Telangana) and Sharat Chandra Pawar (Telangana) have been allotted for TS,’’ the director general said.
No women IPS probationer allotted to Telugu states this year
Of the 122 probationers, 15 officers have been allotted to Uttar Pradesh, ten officers for West Bengal and eight officers for Karnataka. In the current batch, 21 women IPS probationers have finished their training in the academy. Of the 21 women officers, four women have completed MBBS. “All IPS probationers were trained in criminology, indoor and outdoor practice, police station function, cyber crime and ground-level duties. We have latest technology in the academy to provide proper training to IPS probationers during their training. The academy is affiliated to OU for conducting courses on police subjects for IPS officers,’’ Barman said.
