Kejriwal pauses, to hit Khurshid at ‘home’

A day after Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid produced evidence in his defence, activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal dismissed them and in a surprising move suspended his Delhi agitation against the Minister.

While promising to take the agitation against Khurshid to his constituency of Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh from November 1, Kejriwal also said he will soon be exposing BJP president Nitin Gadkari.

Kejriwal has been targeting Khurshid after a TV channel ran an expose claiming that a trust run by his wife Louise Khurshid had siphoned off money meant for differently-abled people.

Meanwhile, the Economic Offences Wing of Uttar Pradesh had called for all the documents from 17 districts of the state where Khurshid’s NGO organised its camps for differently-abled people.

Since Saturday, Kejriwal has been camping on the Parliament Street demanding Khurshid’s resignation and had been vowing to turn it into ‘Tahrir Square’ - the venue of people’s protest in Egypt that overthrew Hosni Mubarak’s regime.

However, Kejriwal announced suspension of the protest in Delhi as there was no response from the Prime Minister’s Office and vowed to shift their protest to Farrukhabad.

“Now the volunteers will go to Farrukhabad. We are getting more documents against Khurshid. Public will make a differently-abled person fight against him in the next elections and defeat him,” he said.

Kejriwal alleged that both the ruling Samajwadi Party in UP and Khurshid were in cahoots even though he himself brandished an investigation report of the UP Government as his evidence against the Law Minister. He  also pointed fingers at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

“He (Manmohan Singh) too has been exposed. He does not speak. The Congress and BJP are hand in glove. In a couple of days, BJP chief Nitin Gadkari will be exposed,” he said.

He also presented one Pankaj Kumar from Mainpuri, whose name had figured in the list of beneficiaries of the Khurshid’s trust, claimed he did not get any help from the NGO.
