India Against Corruption (IAC) members Anjali Damania and Mayank Gandhi on Friday said that they were ready to face any probe.
Addressing a press conference here, Damania and Mayank, without going into the details of allegations against them, said they would submit to an independent probe by three retired Judges of the high court.
“Instead of a media trial, we will put all the facts before the three-member panel. We have nothing to hide.
“It is all in the public domain,” said Mayank. He denied that the probe was a ploy to buy time. Mayank said the IAC had requested A P Shah, former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, Justice (retd) B H Marlapalle and Justice (retd) Jaspal Singh of the Delhi High Court to conduct the probe.
Damania said the allegations were baseless and levelled with an intention to discredit the IAC activists who were blowing whistle on others.
Damania has been accused of grabbing land of farmers and selling it off as plots.
“Some of my land was seized by the government two days after we filed a PIL in the high court against the irregularities in the Kondhane Dam project,” said Damania.
Mayank added that Damania was first offered a huge sum of money to withdraw the PIL and subsequently threatened with government action on her land.
“All documents related to our land holdings would be submitted to them. Let the panel verify every single aspect of the allegation. We are ready to be punished if they find any irregularity in it,” said Damania.
Mayank added: “We are ready for a probe. We would have not fought such a big battle if we had anything to hide. Let the truth come out.”
