KOCHI: The Kerala State Financial Enterprises (KSFE) on Tuesday said it was working intensively along with the Treasury Department to overcome the currency shortage faced by the state.
The remittances received from chitty subscribers and customers of other KSFE schemes were being deposited to the treasury directly by the government-owned KSFE, said chairman Peelipose Thomas.
In the four working days starting from April 12, a total of `123.40 crore has been remitted to the treasury, he said. Out of this, `115 crore has been through cash remittance and the balance of `7.95 crore through cheques, he said in a statement. The break-up of the remittances made by the KSFE are `32.84 crore (April 12), `13.02 crore (April 15), `31.64 crore (April 17) and `30 crore (April 18); in addition to cheque remittance of `7.95 crore on April 12.
