They’re right in calling it a superstore, you know. At 20,000 sq ft and spread across two levels, it isn’t just another store; it’s a modern day Aladdin’s cave where untold treasures unfold at every step. Add to that the class of a century-old brand, the charisma of its owners and the charm of its ware and you know you have a winner on your hands.

Furniturewalla FW, the brand new superstore that opened its plush portals earlier this month, is actually witnessing a second coming to the capital. A smaller version had been around some years back but had to be closed down due to the sealing drive on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon stretch. This time around, the owners are on surer ground, and with far more space at their disposal. Also this time around, Farhan, scion of the famous Furniturewalla family that owns Mumbai’s landmark store is partnered by his wife, Laila Khan, a designer and artist in her own right. Together, the two have struck an equal music of sorts by reinventing the brand and bringing to Delhi the best from around the world.

One of the first to import furniture and accessories into India and after opening 14 stores around the country, the brand offers a world of contemporary luxury handpicked by Laila and Farhan.  “Luxury within reach is our mantra here,” says Farhan, who has travelled across Europe, north and south America, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Philippines and Taiwan to put together this world studio. “People are much more aware now and exposed to global trends than they were till some years ago and by bringing them international designs at their doorstep, we provide them with a global design aesthetic,” says Laila.

The store showcases a host of decor themes for every part of your home, including the living room, dining room, bedroom and even the outdoors.

This season, it’s all about rich opulence, so forget about quiet luxury and fashion your home with their Luxe Collection—a sumptuous range of L-shaped sofas with adjustable hand rests, headrests and recliners. The Winston Collection focuses on contemporary vintage, with a unique range of accessories. Mirrors in intricate floral weave patterns, stallion inspired lanterns in stainless steel with leather handles and cart-inspired coffee tables with teak tops. The Flight Collection showcases bold retro in trunk-inspired coffee tables, chests and bar cabinets in high gloss steel, leather and glass. And there’s more—indulge in Divany, Haute Nature, Acro, Vetro Walnut, Classico, Balina, Decorativo and Effeti Trunk.

Besides, the studio also functions as an exclusive  gallery space for Laila.  “Furniturewalla is a culmination of our passion for art, interiors and design. I showcase my works from different galleries and given the vision of Furniturewalla, I chose to exhibit my collection here. In the future, I also plan to showcase the works of promising and upcoming artists at the store,” explains Laila, whose current works exhibited at the store include the Portrait Series and The Ganesha Series.
