Of the many forms of divination, palmistry is perceived as the most direct one. It is tangible because the lines on the palm, the mounds and the shapes, sizes and length of fingers and thumbs are accessible to the subject. Broadly speaking, the most frequent questions people visiting astrologers are those that concern love, marriage, profession and children. The science of palmistry can determine the number of children you will have.
First, the palmist should proceed to carefully examine the marriage or relationship lines on the subject’s hand. Relationship lines are situated above the heartline which runs across the upper part of the palm, which then swoops down to end below the little finger in most cases. The lines above the heartline indicate the number of times you will marry. Small vertical lines that are situated above each marriage line—that meet the relationship line, but don’t cross it—predict the number of children that will be born into the marriage. The lines are always counted from the outside of the hand in towards the palm. The area on the percussion side of the hand under the little finger is where most cheiromancers look for information on children. These lines are often deeper in the non-dominant hand. This is interpreted as a covenant between the parent and the child’s souls: even before the child’s birth, they had karmically agreed to bring in this child’s soul through birth into the world. By some twist of fate, if the agreement is broken, it becomes imperative for the parents to restore karmic balance with the child’s soul within the next lifetime.
But cheiromancers remain undecided on the areas on the palm which predict children. Some palmists study lines that arise at the base of the thumb to spread outward into the life line to predict children. On the thumb’s base in the palm is a family area that holds information on children, and in some cases even the initials of their future names can be found. Vertical lines on the second phalange of the Finger of Mercury also indicate children, so do vertical lines on the middle phalange of the second finger. The most authentic place to glean information on children is still under the Mount of Mercury at the base of the fourth finger.
Just like any other science, palmistry also is changing with the times. In the old days, palm readers deduced strong, deep lines indicated boys and weaker lines that are comparatively shallow meant the child would be a girl. Some palmists feel if the child line is straight, it indicates a son while an angled one means it will be a daughter. Today’s palmists have observed many childless people who have these lines on their palms. The interpretation of this phenomenon is these lines represent non-biological children— stepchildren, adopted kids, nieces and nephews—who play an are important role in a person’s life. Many Western palmists even claim these lines may even mean an adored pet at different times in their lives. Broadly speaking, the following indicate facts about
children.
Broad lines: Male children.
Fine, narrow lines: Girls
Clearly marked lines: Strong and healthy children
One line longer than the rest: The child represented by the line will be loved more by the parents than its siblings.
The Lines of Children appearing on a male hand: The person will be exceptionally fond of children.
Faint or crooked: Children whose health is delicate.
First part is marked with a Island: The child will be very delicate in its early life.
Line ending or broken at island: The child may be retarded.
Minute perpendicular crossed lines denote miscarriages.
It should be remembered marriage lines are not always to be taken literally. These are also relationship lines, which form the map of important relationships, and not necessarily of a spouse.
Palm readers look for symbols and markings on children lines to deduce the child’s personality. A star means the child will get fame and recognition as an adult. The shape of an eye indicates a child who is a “seer”. A cross is a bad sign, for he may be a problem for himself and his parents.
