When Clive Christian, British maker of the world’s most expensive perfume, made their Imperial Majesty Edition, it also made history. The 500 ml release that comes in a French Baccarat crystal flaçon costs approximately $215,000. The neck of the bottle is styled like the coronation tiara of the British queen and is crafted with 18-carat gold inset with a five-carat brilliant-cut diamond. This collar is later engraved with the owner’s name. Legend has it that Elton John had his Clive Christian shaped like a piano and Katie Holmes wore it at her wedding to Tom Cruise. Chanel No. 5 1921 was made by Russian and French perfumer Ernest Beaux. This constrained release aroma was discharged by the company as the rarest-slash-purest Original No. 5 fragrance and hence, it costs something like $4,200 per ounce. The rose and jasmine from Chanel’s proprietary fields in France have made their way into it. Each jug has been handmade using moulds.

Sometime back, DKNY collaborated with American jewellery designer Martin Katz to bottle the company’s apple-formed million-dollar perfume. The procedure took almost 1,500 hours to finish and the perfume turned timeless. It contains 2,909 precious stones, including a 1.6-carat turquoise Paraiba tourmaline from Brazil, 15 pink Australian

jewels and a 2.43-carat clear yellow Canary embellishing the cap.
