MiFi: Wifi Hotspot in your pocket
Portable WiFi routers, known as MiFis are compact solutions to share your 3G connection with up to five devices. Vodafone and Tata Docomo currently offer a solution at Rs 5,500 and Rs 5,999 respectively. Tata Docomo’s 3G WiFi Hub has Dual Mode, where the device will utilise Tata Photon Plus service in non-3G areas. Most Android phones running Android 2.2 and higher, have Portable Hotspot which offers a similar solution. The iPhone offers a Personal Hotspot and Nokia is bundling Joikuspot app to offer the same. But such a feature depletes battery life.
