Google is widely expected to launch its second-generation Nexus 7 tablet at an event in San Francisco this evening, but rumours are already rife about the device’s hardware and software specifications.
Android Police, which claims to have seen the 7-inch device ahead of time, reiterates earlier rumours that the new Nexus 7 will have a 1920 x 1200 touch screen, (compared to 1280 x 800 on the original version), offering around 320 pixels per inch.
It also reaffirms that the device will feature a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Adreno 320 graphics, rather than the Nvidia Tegra 3 processor included with the original Nexus 7.
However, the web blog quashes rumours that the tablet will come with 4GB of RAM, claiming that the device it handled only had 2GB.
The new Nexus 7, which is reportedly codenamed 'Razor', is said to run version 4.3 of Google's Android Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.
