LG and Samsung are all set for a battle royale. Both have introduced trendy curved display smartphones. Since, both smartphones have been launched in quick succession, consumers have been left with the tough task of making the choice between these two flagship devices.

To make the choice a bit easier for our readers, here is a comparison between the two devices:

Design and display

Although both smartphones have introduced curved displays, there is a difference in the manner in which it works. Samsung Galaxy Round wrapped the display horizontally, while LG G Flex sports a vertically curved display. With a display of 6 inch, G Flex has a screen resolution of 1280X720 pixels. Samsung is not far behind with a display of 5.7 inch the flagship device has a screen resolution of 1080X1920 pixels.

Processor

The LG G Flex is powered by a 2.26 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 along with a 2GB RAM, whereas Galaxy Round is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with a 3GB RAM.

Camera

The camera is an important feature in the smartphone world. Hence both the devices have tried satisfying their customers by providing them with good 13 megapixel camera rear facing cameras. When it comes to G Flex, LG has also offered a 2.1 megapixels front-facing camera on the other hand Samsung offers a 2 megapixels camera for video calling.

Memory

G Flex offers a storage capacity of up to 32GB. Galaxy Round is more generous in terms of storage as it offers a storage capacity of up to 32GB, with an additional microSD card slot which will help to raise the capacity up to 64GB.

Operating System

Samsung wins another point when it comes to the operating system as it runs the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. On the other hand, G Flex comes loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Battery

With G Flex, LG has now introduced curved batteries in the tech world. LG Chem has introduced a new variety of batteries. This development will offer the new batteries in three types: curved, stepped and cable. The device sports a 3,500 mAh battery whereas Samsung Galaxy Round carries a 2,800 mah battery.

Since, there is not much difference in terms of the key specifications of both devices, there are some features added by both the tech giant to compliment their newly introduced curved displays.

LG G Flex has introduced a self-healing coating which will repair the hairline scratches on the back cover. LG has concentrated more on the Rear Key, which will allow the users to manage the volume and the power button. LG is also touting the Dual Window option, which will help the users to multitask.

When it comes to Samsung Galaxy Round, the users will have the advantage of round integration like Roll Effect, which will allow the users to check information such as date, time missed calls and battery life, when the home screen is off.

Samsung also offers Gravity Effect, which will help the users to create visual interactions. Samsung Galaxy Round has already landed the markets in Korea and LG G Flex scheduled to release in Korea from November 1.

The flagship devices carry almost the same key specifications, hence it can be considered as a tie between the two. The customers can now make a choice.
