Feng Shui First Aid for Career Prospects

Activating specific aspirations like wealth, love and career are quite common through feng shui by creating a good environment with proper design, feel and ample energy flow. In feng shui, it is important for the occupants to be surrounded with symbolism which not only inspires and motivates but generates a positive vibe and harmony which opens a pathway towards the desires and dreams.

From the feng shui perspective, it’s important to analyse the home or workplace to identify the problem areas. This calls for some skill and analysis of the compass direction, an understanding of the interaction of elements called wuxing, and putting in place the right symbolism to either activate or counter the energies.

When a building is designed based on feng shui tenets, ample care is taken to ensure that there are no sharp corners, projections and most importantly missing sectors in the layout. When the layout is harmonious, the quality of energy flow is good and unhindered; hence it is quite simple to activate the sector which is free of affliction. Practically, however, it gets difficult to design homes which are completely in accordance with feng shui as modern-day buildings give importance to aesthetics , so we do have sectors afflicted and with missing corners too.

Enhancing career luck, or making changes in job needs careful planning and any obstacles in the path need to be dissipated. By adapting feng shui, it is easy to strengthen the existing job or look for new opportunities. Career occupies the north sector in the compass and relates to water element. Hence ensuring that this sector is not having a toilet or kitchen would be essential and activating the north sector with water element would help finances and career luck.

The north sector can also be empowered with colours in case placement of water is challenging. In the cycle of the five elements in feng shui, metal produces water; thus strengthening the north sector with water or shades of metal colours like white, gold or yellow is also good. Colours gold and yellow are said to remind the person constantly about the goal and achievements, and keep them active which motivates them to bring out their best.

Apart from placing water features, aquariums or adapting decor and colour in metallic shades using mythical feng shui symbolism are also considered good. Dragon tortoise, turtle and the mythical dragon horse known as Chi lin are quite popular. From the imperial days, Chi lin has been used to create power, wealth, career luck, abundance, longevity, good health, perseverance and fame. The Chi lin also protects the occupants from being cheated or betrayed.

Place the Chi lin at a raised level and not on the floor, and it is better if it’s in a pair. It can also be placed on work desk to safeguard against office politics and harmful people. On the children’s study table, it helps to achieve scholastic success. Placing a pair in the north can help improve career luck and having it on the work desk brings luck, advancement in career, success and helps in warding off harmful people at work place. One can also place it at the foyer or in the reception area to bring in good energy and business prospects.
