An exhibition titled ‘Women in Bali’ will showcase pictures by Italian photographer Bruna Rotunno of the lives of women in the Indonesian islands. After the debut show at India Habitat Centre in Delhi on April 26, the 10-day exhibition will travel to Singapore, Bali and Europe. The narration of the exhibition flows through a kaleidoscope of women immersed in their natural environment, in everyday life or portrayed in composite form and the importance of nature.
Singapore-based art consultant Sabiana Paoli has collaborated with art historian Alka Pande for the project. The photographs are an attempt to make a comparison of the role of women in India and Bali, nations permeated by the same religious traditions, and to start a reflection on the opportunity for women.
