Though her first movie was Nee Ko Naa Cha in 2013, Poojitha Menon counts the Biju Menon-starrer Swarnakaduva, which hit the screens yesterday, as her mainstream debut. Well, this outing is definitely earning her good reviews.
“I am elated to know that people have accepted the movie. There was quite a rush for the first show in Kochi,” says the actor.
Poojitha says the moment she heard the script, she had an intuition that the movie would fare well. “The offer came to me via an associate who worked in my earlier movie, Maramkothi. I loved the storyline, but decided I was doing it when I heard about the crew,” says Poojitha. The 28-year-old actor plays Biju Menon’s wife Deepthi.
“Deepthi is someone who witnesses a lot of mystery. Soon after her marriage, she finds out that Riny Mathew [Biju Menon] married her for a purpose,” she adds.
Poojitha says the movie has mass appeal, wherein the elements of humour and suspense blend well. So, how was the experience working opposite Biju, who is an established star? “I was tense.
Biju has already created a niche in humour and it was a challenge keeping up with him. But, the high point is that I got support from the whole crew and they said I did a good job,” says Poojitha.
