NEW DELHI: The state secretary-general of Janata Dal(S), K Krishnankutty, has been suspended for anti-party activities.
The decision was announced by party national secretarygeneral Danish Ali. With his suspension, the stage has been set for a split in the JD(S) Kerala unit. In a statement, Ali said that Krishnankutty had been indulging in antiparty activities for a while. He even levelled personal allegations against JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda the other day, he said.
Ali once again made it clear that the JD(S) would be part of the LDF in Kerala.
The party members will have to sit in the treasury benches in the Assembly.
Leaders supporting JD(S) state president M P Veerendrakumar will form a new regional party in the state soon to overcome the crisis.
A decision in this regard will be taken once Veerendrakumar returns to the state after a foreign tour. In a statement in Palakkad, Krishnankutty said that only M P Veerendra Kumar had the authority to remove him.
