NEW DELHI: The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day Wednesday following the death of Samajwadi Party member B.B. Tiwari, who had taken oath just the day before.
Tiwari, 71, suffered a heart attack Wednesday morning. "He was rushed to hospital, where he died," said a party member.
Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari read out a condolence message before adjourning the house for the day.
Tiwari, who took oath Tuesday, was elected unopposed from Uttar Pradesh.
