Mathai to meet Kerry

Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai left Wednesday for Washington, where he will meet the new US Secretary of State John Kerry.

The main purpose of the foreign secretary’s three-day trip is to hold foreign office consultations with the Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman.

Mathai’s meeting with Kerry would be the first formal interaction of the US’s top diplomatic czar with a senior government official from New Delhi.
