HRD Minister Smriti Irani was shrouded in controversy for allegedly giving “false” information about her educational qualification in affidavits filed with the Election Commission.
Rahul Gandhi went economical with the truth about his educational qualification, In the affidavit, he states that he obtained an MPhil from Trinity College of the University of Cambridge, UK, in 1995, in Developmental Economics. A certificate from the University shows that not only has he got dates wrong, he has even got the name of the course he took incorrect. Worse, the man touted as a future prime minister failed one of his four papers.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi has allegedly faked her degree of studying English in the University of Cambridge. Subramaniam Swamy who even took the matter to the Supreme Court saying that he has a letter from Cambridge saying there was no record of Ms Gandhi studying there and also claims that she did not even study beyond 5th Class.
Not just Tomar, AAP faced another embarrassment where Delhi High Court issued notices to its MLA Surender Singh where he allegedly misrepresented himself to be BA in 2012 from Sikkim University. Interestingly, a BJP MLA submitted that he was serving the Indian Army (NSG) till 2011.
AAP’s Delhi Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar faced arrest, where a Bihar University filed an inquiry report in court stating that Mr Tomar's provisional certificate is "fabricated and doesn't exist in the university's record."
