

The recommendations for a hike in salary of Delhi MLA’s have triggered a major debate amongst the opposition parties, where they criticised the priorities of AAP. The twitter brigade digging deep into the twitter archives to bring out tweets of the now Delhi CM criticising pay hikes for politicians.
An independent panel has recommended a hike in the salary of the MLAs of Delhi. The panel has recommended that the MLAs' salary should be increased to Rs. 50,000 from the current Rs. 12,000 and Rs. 70,000 for assistance. It has also recommended for a conveyance hike from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 30,000.
This has been slammed by the opposition parties like BJP and Congress which have questioned the priorities of the AAP. Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay said, " 'The AAP should decide what their priority is' Is their priority to hike the salary of the MLAs or to tackle dengue, price rise, contractual employee problem and other problems of Delhi.”
Amongst this 2012 tweets of Arvind Kejriwal have been brought to the surface. As a crusader against corruption at that time, Arvind Kejriwal had criticised a pay hike for legislative members.
The AAP leader hasn't spoken on the salary hike issue yet. However AAP's Ashutosh has tweeted that for an honest MLA the current salary is too low and should be raised.
