NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a supplementary charge sheet against four accused persons, including two Impersonators, into multi-crore Vyapam scam of Madhya Pradesh.
The agency has named four accused Yashpal Nagar and Mukesh Rajput, who were impersonator for candidate Rakesh Kumar and Shiv Kumarin a case related to Madhya Pradesh Pre Medical Test 2013 conducted by Vyapam.
The allegations pertain to two separate instances of impersonation of candidates in the Pre Medical Test., 2013 on July 7at the same examination centre -- Government Autonomous Girls PG Excellence College at Sagar in Madhya Pradesh in two separate examination halls – room number seven and room number eight respectively.
In this case all the four accused were already chargesheeted by the Madhya Pradesh Police and the case was pending investigation for collecting further evidence.
“During investigation, evidence, including expert opinion, have been collected. The accused persons have allegedly committed offences of criminal conspiracy, cheating, cheating by impersonation, forgery of valuable security, use of forged documents as genuine and using unfair means in recognized examination,” the agency stated in charge sheet.
The case was earlier registered at Police Station Gopalganj at Sagar was one amongst the 72 under trial cases which were ordered by Supreme Court to be transferred to CBI for taking over trial and further investigation.
CBI accordingly re-registered the FIR on January 6 this year for further investigation after seeking permission from trial court.
In total, Special Task Force of Madhya Pradesh, who was earlier probing the Vyapam scam, had registered more than 185 cases and arrested around 2,000 people, including former state Education Minister Laxmikant Sharma and several top bureaucrats. The agency is also probing mysterious deaths related to the scam.
The scam came to limelight after journalist Akshay Singh died in mysterious circumstances while interviewing the parents of Namrata Damor, a MBBS student who was found dead near railway track in Ujjain in January 2012. Even as Akshay Singh was talking to the Damor’s father, he began frothing at the mouth and collapsed. The CBI has also registered Preliminary Enquiry in Akshay Singh death.
