Samajwadi Party leader Gaurav Bhatia resigns, says didn’t want to compromise with principles

Earlier in the day, Bhatia resigned from the post of National President Legal Wing of the Samajwadi Party and all other posts in the party.

LUCKNOW: Confirming his resignation from the Samajwadi Party, Gaurav Bhatia on Sunday said he did not want to compromise with his principles and that is why he took the ‘tough decision’.

“Whether you retain position or not, but you don’t compromise on principles you believe in. This is why I took this tough decision,” Bhatia told ANI

Earlier in the day, Bhatia resigned from the post of National President Legal Wing of the Samajwadi Party and all other posts in the party.

Bhatia further informed that he had forwarded his resignation to party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Last month, Samajwadi Party MLA from Etah Assembly constituency, Ashu Yadav quit the party after he was denied ticket and hit out at SP general secretary Ramgopal Yadav, calling him a "traitor".

In Uttar Pradesh, election campaign for the first and second phase is in full swing where an election will be held on 11th and 15th of this month.
