CHANDIGARH:  Leader of Opposition and Aam Aadmi Party legislator Sukhpal Singh Khaira today
questioned Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh about the presence of his Pakistani friend Aroosa Alam at his official residence and termed her as a spy.

Khaira accused the state government for framing him in drug case. He came down heavily on Amarinder after the assembly passed a resolution condemning the  Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) MLAs Simarjit Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains for releasing an audio CD to defame the judiciary.

Directly blaming Amarinder for the resolution, Khaira questioned Aroosa’s  stay in the CM’s official residence. He went on to say that Aroosa who Amarinder claims to be his Pakistani friend is in
fact a spy planted by the Pakistani Government in the Chief Minister’s residence. `` Aroosa Alam is a Pakistani spy. I demand a probe into this by central agencies,’’ he said.

The winter assembly session continued to be rocky with the assembly passing a resolution urging the Punjab and Haryana high court to take suo moto notice of the audio released by Bains brothers.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Brahm Mohindra moved the resolution against both  LIP MLAs Simarjit Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains and requested the Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice to take cognizance of it.

The resolution read that “The House strongly condemns the wrongful involvement and scandalous allegations being made against the Hon’ble Judge which is clearly for political purpose and vested motives. The judiciary in India and its Hon’ble Judges are an irreplaceable pillar of democracy and merit our highest respect and deference.”

Khaira said ,"Are you trying to obstruct justice in my case. The House should have supported me and hang me if I am found guilty, but don’t obstruct justice in my case." He reiterated that he wanted a
CBI inquiry in the case.

Khaira said the House was saving those who had paid Rs 35 lakh to implicate him in the case.

AAP MLA Kanwar Sandhu said instead of holding a discussion, a resolution was being
moved against those exposing the case.

As soon as the house passed this resolution AAP and LIP legislators  staged a walkout.

Simarjit Bains said that the copy of the resolution passed in the house was not given and added that they had not defamed the judiciary.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh said the audio clip seemed to be concocted to defame the judiciary, so they had moved the resolution. He urged the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High
Court to take suo motu cognizance of the incident and initiate suitable action against the culprits.

Asked about the offensive language used, and personal attack launched against him by Khaira in the House, the Chief Minister said it exposed the petty and spiteful mindset of the leader of the Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, and his party, which obviously did not believe in upholding constitutional or
parliamentary propriety.
