NEW DELHI: Delhi police on Thursday faced major embarrassment due to one of its Station House Officer (SHO) who welcomed controversial self-styled godwoman Radhe Maa and clicked picture with her after offering his SHO’s chair. While top brass of Delhi police was busy in deciding punishment for the Vivek Vihar SHO Sanjay Sharma, another video from the same district but a different police station area came out in which five cops were seen singing and dancing with Radhe Maa during Ramleela function in east Delhi area. Delhi police has sent four cops to district line and suspended SHO and one Assistant Sub-inspector Braj Bhushan.

A photograph purportedly taken at the Vivek Vihar police station shows Station House Officer Sanjay Sharma, draped in a red and gold shawl worn by Hindu devotees, standing next to the self-styled godwoman with folded hands. According to the organizers, Radhe Maa was never invited by them but SHO took her and asked the organizers to felicitate Radhey Maa. Later she took her to his police station and gave a grand welcome treatment.

In another video of same day, Radhe Maa was found dancing with five police personnel who are seen singing patriotic songs. The five policemen in the video, which was uploaded on the godwoman's facebook page, are assistant sub-inspectors Braj Bhushan and Radhe Krishan, head constable Pramod and constables Hitesh and Ravinder, a senior police official said. “An inquiry has been initiated against the SHO and five police personnel. SHO and an ASI has been suspended, pending investigation,” joint commissioner eastern range, Ravindra Yadav said. “An additional deputy commissioner of police-rank officer has begun an inquiry into the matter,” he added.

Sukhwinder Kaur alias Radhe Maa, who has attracted eyeballs for her glitzy pictures on social media, is at the centre of several controversies. Earlier this year, a Mumbai-based woman had approached the Bombay High Court allegeding that Kaur instigated her in- laws to harass her for dowry.
