BHUBANESWAR: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Tapas Pal, arrested in connection with the Rose Valley chit fund scam, today created a flutter in political circles by alleging that union minister of state for heavy industries and public enterprises Babul Supriyo has links with the tainted company.

Pal, who was taken on a three day remand by the CBI today, said, "Many leaders including Supriyo are involved in the chit fund scam."

"I am innocent. I am not guilty at all. Everything will be proved later," he said.   "The truth will come to light soon," he said. Pal also vehemently denied allegations that he took financial advantage from the chit fund company. "I have given all information to CBI about Odisha's link with the scam," he
said.

Pal was arrested by the CBI from Kolkata on Friday after being interrogated for four hours for his alleged links with the Ponzi scheme and was shifted to Bhubaneswar on transit remand the same day.

The Special Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court of the CBI here allowed CBI on Saturday to take the Trinamool MP on a three-day remand.

Meanwhile, BJP has rejected the statement of Pal implicating the union minister. "The statement of an accused does not have any evidential value," BJP national secretary Suresh Pujari said. He said
that the law will take its own course in the case.

The Rose Valley Group had collected over ` 10,000 crore as deposits from several people across the country, especially from eastern states including West Bengal and Odisha. It could not repay
a substantial part of it.
