CHANDIGARH: In what seems like a real horror blockbuster, a 16-year-old brutally murdered a minor boy in the industrial city of Ludhaina on Tuesday before eating his flesh and drinking the blood of the deceased.

Nine-year-old Deepu's body was found chopped into six pieces and crammed into a sack at a vacant plot in Karnail Singh Nagar of Dugri in Ludhiana.

A 16-year-old student of Class 8 was on Friday arrested by the police for the cold-blooded murder and he confessed that he killed the boy, a distant relative and neighbour.

He also ate flesh which he cut from Deepu’s thigh and then drank his blood, claimed police sources.

Sources also said that the accused teenager during interrogation revealed that he had removed the heart of the deceased and thrown it in the premises Holy Heart Senior Secondary School, Mata Nagar, in order to defame it. The accused was a student there and disliked going to school.

Police later recovered the victim’s heart from the school compound. The accused also admitted to luring Deepu with a kite string and taking him to his empty house on January 17, where he strangled him to death.

Then he cut the body into six pieces and washed them in his bathroom before putting them into a sack and dumping it at some distance from the deceased’s house.

He then went home and cooked a meal for his father who had returned from work as his mother had gone to Chandigarh with his elder brother, said sources.

They also said that the accused boy’s parents told the police that he used to bite his own hands at times and ate raw meat.

The police arrested the accused after scanning CCTV footage of the area in which he can be seen taking the victim with him.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Ludhiana (Investigation) Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said that the teenager had also planned to demand a ransom from Deepu’s family, but dropped the plan later.

Both the deceased and the accused are children of migrant labourers.
