BHOPAL: A ruling BJP leader has declared Rs 5 lakh bounty for beheading the accused in the seven-year-old girl's kidnapping and gang rape case in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh.

The ruling party's sports cell leader Sanjiv Mishra in Hoshangabad district said on Sunday that if the court and government isn't capable of giving the death penalty to the accused in the case, he would give Rs 5 lakh to anyone who beheads the accused in the case.

He added that the brutality with the little girl has revived the ghastly memories of 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape case of Delhi.

Two men, including Irfan Mev and Asif have been arrested by Mandsaur district police in the case.

Mishra said he has also written a letter to the President of India for constituting fast-track courts in the High Courts and the Supreme Court for speedy justice in rape cases on the lines of a similar system in lower courts.

Meanwhile, in a related development in the case, the wife and mother of Asif, the second accused in the case claimed their son was innocent and had been falsely implicated by police in the case.

Asif's wife and mother have demanded that a CBI probe be ordered into the entire case and claimed that the evening and night when the little girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped, Asif was at home and not outside.

The Class III student alleged gang rape survivor girl, meanwhile, is slowly improving at the MY Hospital in Indore.

She was kidnapped from near the gate of the school, where she studied in Mandsaur district on June 26 evening and later gang-raped allegedly by the two men, who are in police custody now till July 5.
