New Delhi, Jan 15 (PTI) The Delhi University Student'sUnion (DUSU) today set up a Gender Sensitisation Cell toaddress long standing issues of gender discrimination in thevarsity.

The cell aims to represent students who undergodiscrimination and harassment, and provide legal aid andadvice to them, DUSU president Rocky Tuseed said in astatement.

"It will also hold awareness sessions in order to createsafe and healthy environment in the university for allgenders, particularly women and transgenders. The universityis for everyone and female students are as safe as everyoneelse," he said.

The cell will have the DUSU president as its chairman, aconvener and two co-conveners.

Convener Narayani Anand said, "Women and transgenderstudents make up an indispensable part of the Delhi Universityand we're going to make sure that sexual harassment and genderdiscrimination are taken very seriously." PTI CPBANB.
