Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the inaugural run of the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train after January 14, tentatively between January 17 and 19.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) oversaw the trial, during which the train ran at 180 km/h over a 225 km stretch.
Following its production, commissioning of the rake was delayed for a few months after ICF flagged several manufacturing defects, which BEML later addressed.
