

NAGPUR: The newly built stadium of Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) at Jamatha is a spacious one which can hold a capacity of 45,000 spectators.
The stadium, built at a cost of about Rs 90 crore, is 16-km drive from the Nagpur station. It is spread over 33 acres and situated on the Nagpur-Hyderabad national highway.
It is said that the ground is the brainchild of VCA and BCCI president Shashank Manohar. The new stadium can accommodate about 10,000 more people than the old stadium situated at Civil Lines near the Nagpur railway station.
There are three ready-to-use centre wickets, with provision for two more. The outfield is lush green and fast. The stadium has a four-tier structure with colourful plastic fixed bucket chairs along with cushion chairs for the spectators.
A special 15-seater air-conditioned enclosure for corporates is available at a cost of Rs three lakh for the match.The players’ dressing rooms and sitting area are spacious and give a clear view of the ground.
The pavilion has thick-glass enclosures on north and south ends of the screen.
VCA, which has a total membership of 1,200, has fully air-conditioned boxes for its life members along with privileged members. The media box can accommodate 200 journalists and is equipped with hi-tech facilities.
It has neatly arranged wooden tables with power connection for each and every seat. The news centre attached has wi-fi enabled computers.
The stadium boasts of a large TV screen and an electronic score board.
