Ramesh Kumar, Prem Hari hog limelight

The second round of the YZF-R15 One Make Ra­ce Championship at the Madras Motor Race Track, was as thrilling as the inaugural edition with bikers blazing the track with gusto. With compe­t­itions in novice and open cat­e­gories, the event saw a hea­lthy turnout of contestants as well as spectators. While Ra­mesh Kumar and S Prem Hari won the first and second races in the novice category, Sh­y­am Kumar and R Dinesh Ku­­mar claimed honours in the two Yahama R15 Open grid. The championship will have three rounds and concl­udes in December.

Jun Nakata, director of sa­les and marketing, India Yamaha Motor, said the com­p­­a­ny would further encourage the sport in the country. “The second season of the YZF-R15 One Make Race Champions­h­­ip has witnessed tremendo­us enthusiasm. We are happy with the response we’ve been receiving throughout this ch­a­mpionship,” he said.

The winners will represent India Yamaha Motor at the Ya­­maha ASEAN Cup 2012 to be held later this year. “Thro­ugh our racing events like the Riding Clinic and R15 Racing Championships, we take forward our legacy of being a br­a­nd that is refining motorcyc­ling culture in India by giving them an opportunity to repre­s­­ent the country on int­ernat­ional platforms,” he ad­ded.
