CHENNAI: Fourteen-year-old B Kumaran, a ninth standard student of Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School, Adyar, Chennai, shared the lead with four points after the fourth round of the 3rd KACC International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2012 (below 2200) in Puducherry on Sunday. Also in contention with four points were top seed K Gunasekaran (TN), third seed Linda Rangarajan (Pon), M Chakkravarthi Reddy, M Teja Suresh, Ramakrishna Perumalla (all AP), V Varshini, P Elancheralathan (both TN) and S Suresh Krishna (Pon).

The Grand Slam Carrom Academy will conduct the 3rd annual district-level open carrom tournament from May 31 to June 4 at Hall of Carrom, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Events will take place in open singles (men), open doubles (men), non-medallist singles, veterans singles, women’s singles, junior & sub-junior boys & girls singles (U-18 & U-14), cadet boys & girls (U-12).
