5th consecutive win for Varshini

National amateur girls champion V Varshini scored her fifth consecutive win in the Under-15 Girls section moving into sole lead after the fifth round in the Velammal 2nd National Schools Chess Championship, at Nehru Stadium.

Also sharing the lead with 5/5 score were Siva Mahadevan (U-13 Boys), P Iniyan (Under-11 Boys), M Pranesh, Nikhil Maghizhnan (both U-7 Boys), Nikhil Ramakrishnan (U-5  Boys), Saee Patil (U-5 Girls) and N G Sneha (U-13 Girls) respectively.

Easy Victory for Chetan Anand

One of India’s top ranked players, Chetan Anand of Dazzle Force, defeated Yuhan Tan of Chennai Singam 21-16, 21-12 in a league match of the Tamil Nadu Badminton League organized by SunSportz in association with Tamil Nadu Badminton Association.
