Tamil Nadu in quarters of 21st Mini National Volleyball Championship

In the boys section, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi and Karnataka entered the quarterfinals of the St. Joseph’s College of Engineering — 21st Mini National Volleyball Championship. In Pool A,Tamil Nadu beat Rajasthan 25-9, 25-13, 25-10 and qualified for the quarterfinals.

Results: Girls: Pool A: Maharashtra bt Delhi 25-18, 25-14, 15-18; TN bt AP 23-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-19. Boys: Pool A:  Tamil Nadu bt Rajasthan 25-9, 25-13, 25-10.

Sailing Event

Chennai Sailing Academy was flagged off and a practice race was conducted outside the harbour south of the shipping channel in the sunken ship area. The winds were rather low at about 5 to 7 knots from the North East and the sea was quite calm with the overcast sky. Defending champions K C Ganapathy fromTNSA and Varun Thakkar set the tone for the championship starting off on the top right at the start and finishing with a huge lead.
