TN Jr Football Team
Twenty players have been selected to represent Tamil Nadu in the 49th junior national football championship for the Dr BC Roy Trophy in Ranchi. Tamil Nadu is placed in Tier 1 which has 14 top teams and two promoted from Tier 2.
There are four groups in Tier 1 and Tamil Nadu are in Group C. The other teams in the group are Jharkhand, Assam, and Delhi. Tamil Nadu will open against Jharkhand on September 20. The other matches are on September 22 (Assam) and on September 24 (Delhi).

St Joseph’s won the championship in table tennis (women) and kabaddi (men) in the Kongu Trophy, organised by Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai. They finished second in table tennis (men) and basketball (women).
JIT Girls Qualify
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology Girls, Sriperumpudur, won the Anna University Zone-II basketball tournament and qualified for the inter zonal championship.
In the final, Jeppiaar Institute of Technology overwhelmed the hosts Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology.
