Mahogany to Hold Trials for Under-15 I-League

CHENNAI: Mahogany Football Club, based out of Adyar, will be holding trials to identify talented youngsters, as they prepare for the upcoming U-15 I-League season. It is the only club from the state to participate in the U-15 I-League.

The club is looking to identify 30 youngsters. The dates for the trials are as follows: Chennai – April 1, 2, 3; Tuticorin – April 8, 9; Madurai – April 10, 11; Ooty – April 13, 14; Coimbatore – April 15, 16; Thanjavur – April 16; Trichy – April 17.

U Selvaganapathy’s 5 for 25 helped Tiruchirapalli beat Namakkal by six wickets in the TNCA inter-districts tournament for the SS Rajan trophy (Seniors).

Brief scores: Madurai 135 in 37.3 ovs (Arun Kumar 3/19, P Subramani 3/29) lost to Tirupur 139/6 in 33.2 ovs; Namakkal 104 in 26.2 ovs (U Selvaganapathy 5/25, Nirmal Kumar 4/18) lost to Tiruchirapalli 108/4 in 25.5 ovs (K Karthikeyan 3/33).
