HYDERABAD: Deccan Chargers prize catch Dale Styen loves to haunt batsmen. “Who doesn’t like to terrorise a batsman? I don’t like to see somebody hurt. But you know at the same time a batsman will not feel sorry when he is hitting me for a six. I don’t feel sorry for him if I hurt his nose,’’ said the world’s fastest bowler here on Friday.
Excerpts:
On maintaing same pace
Greatest thing for me is to bowl fast consistently, right from the first ball to my last. I’m able to run in at the same pace. That is one of my biggest strengths. Michael Holding and others used to bowl at the same pace in the late afternoons as in the mornings. But they used to play less cricket than present-day bowlers.
On bowling to Sachin
I want to get him out on Sunday (his 38th birthday). I don’t think too much about stats. It is all about the battle on the day. It doesn’t matter if he is world’s best batsman. On the fantasy of playing with WI bowling giants
Bowling alongside these greats would have been incredible. From what I have seen and heard, West Indies wickets were quick and bouncy. The spectators loved seeing bouncers and wickets flying all over the place.
