KARACHI: Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq will be meeting Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan in the next couple of days discuss his future role in regard to international cricket.

Misbah had earlier expressed his desire to tour West Indies for three Tests and a number of limited-over matches. But Shaharyar said that he is still to hear from the Test skipper about his cricket future.

Following Islamabad United’s defeat against Karachi Kings on Wednesday night in Pakistan Super League (PSL) fixture, the 42-year-old said that although he is ready for the West Indies tour in March-May, captaincy is something which will be decided by the board.

“I will meet the PCB chairman in the next two days to discuss my plan,” the Dawn quoted Misbah as saying.

“I can only confirm my availability for the upcoming series, however, as far as my career as captain goes, the board and the chairman will have the last say on that,” he added.

Misbah has been at the receiving end towards the late end of his career. However, leaving the 0-2 thrashing against New Zealand, followed by 0-3 whitewash against Australia, the 42-year-old has been the shining star for the side.

He also inspired Pakistan to the top of the ICC Test team rankings for the first time in history. Although their stint at the top was short-lived as India replaced them.

Pakistan will now aim to put on a much better performance in their West Indies Tour beginning March 31 at the Queen's Park Oval.
