RANCHI: Cheteshwar Pujara's unbeaten 130 steered India to 360/6 in reply to Australia's first innings total of 451 on Day Three of the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Though the pitch didn't show any signs of deteriorating, the hosts batsmen were guilty of throwing away the wicket on Saturday.

Thanks to some disciplined bowling, Australia had India very much in control as they scored only 63 runs and 57 runs in the first and final session. The only session India dominated was the post-lunch session where thanks to the new-ball, Pujara scored a flurry of boundaries en route to his 11th Test century.

Earlier in the morning session, Murali Vijay looked set to score his 10th Test ton, but was dismissed going for a big hit in the last over before lunch. Skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed trying to drive off Pat Cummins and Ajinkya Rahane was out caught behind trying to play an upper cut. Karun Nair, who looked comfortable, was done in by an off-cutter from Josh Hazlewood.

India are still 91 runs behind with Wrridhiman Saha giving company to Pujara on 18.
