MADRID: Capital football club Atletico Madrid on Friday announced that retired midfielder Tiago Mendes has joined the first team's coaching staff.
The contract of 36-year-old Tiago with Atletico expired on May 30. He came to Atlético in January of 2010, loaned by Juventus.
The 36-year-old has played 66 times for his national team, with the last appearance coming in 2015.
