PARIS: Crystal Palace flier Wilfried Zaha scored the early goal that triggered a 4-0 triumph over Hull City at the weekend and sealed English Premier League safety for his club.
The Abidjan-born winger represented England at under-age level before switching his allegiance to the Ivory Coast and playing in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Former African Footballer of the Year Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon netted for Borussia Dortmund in Germany and is one goal behind with one round left in the Bundesliga leading-scorer race.
ENGLAND
WILFRIED ZAHA (Crystal Palace)
The Ivorian delivered a crucial blow in the relegation scrap as his early goal inspired a priceless 4-0 win that ensured Crystal Palace stay in the Premier League and relegated Hull. Zaha pounced on a miscued clearance by defender Andrea Ranocchia to slot home in the third minute.
YAYA TOURE (Manchester City)
The Ivory Coast midfielder turned 34 as his side boosted their top-four bid with a 2-1 win over Leicester at Eastlands. City manager Pep Guardiola promised Toure would have the "biggest cake possible”, a tongue-in-cheek reference to an incident three years ago when the player's agent appeared to be put out by the lack of a baked offering on the Ivorian’s birthday.
VICTOR WANYAMA (Tottenham)
The Kenya midfielder went down in Tottenham history as he scored in his side’s final match at White Hart Lane, a 2-1 victory over Manchester United. With Tottenham moving temporarily to Wembley next season while the Lane is demolished to make way for a new arena, it was an emotional afternoon in London and Wanyama rose to the occasion. He scored only his fourth goal of the season, netting in the sixth minute with a powerful header from a Ben Davies cross.
VICTOR MOSES (Chelsea)
The Nigeria wing-back capped his incredible return to prominence by helping Chelsea clinch the Premier League title. After several seasons out of the first-team picture, Moses appeared destined to leave Chelsea when manager Antonio Conte took charge last year. But a switch to a 3-4-3 formation presented Moses with an unexpected chance to shine and he seized the moment. One of Chelsea’s most consistent players this season, Moses was again excellent in the 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion which guaranteed the Londoners would be crowned champions.
JORDAN AYEW (Swansea)
The Ghana forward played 90 minutes as his side sealed their Premier League survival with a 2-0 win at Sunderland. Ayew was a constant menace to the Sunderland defence with his potent combination of pace and poise.
SPAIN
KEVIN-PRINCE BOATENG (Las Palmas)
Retired Ghana midfielder Boateng provided his fourth assist of the season for Pedro Bigas to net against Barcelona. However, that still couldn't prevent Las Palmas from slumping to a 4-1 defeat as Neymar netted a hat-trick for the Catalans.
ITALY
MOHAMED SALAH (Roma)
The Egyptian was a constant threat as Roma shrugged off the absence of injured Edin Dzeko to defeat champions-in-waiting Juventus 3-1 and remain second. Salah had to wait until the final quarter-hour before making a key contribution, setting up Radja Nainggolan on the right of the area for a smashing strike that sealed a win that kept Juventus waiting another week to clinch the title.
KEITA BALDE (Lazio)
Balde's 55th-minute opener for Lazio was his seventh in four outings and had Fiorentina staring at a possible third defeat in five games. But Lazio, who rested several players ahead of the Italian Cup final against Juventus on Wednesday, took their eye off the ball in a less-than-inspiring second half. Senegalese striker Khouma Babacar equalised and Fiorentina finished 3-2 winners.
GERMANY
PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG (Borussia Dortmund)
The Gabon hot-shot scored Dortmund's equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Augsburg to leave his side third, but he lags behind Robert Lewandowski in the race to be the Bundesliga's top scorer. Lewandowski netted twice in Bayern's thrilling 5-4 win at RB Leipzig to leave him on 30 league goals -- one more than Aubameyang -- with one round left.
NABY KEITA (RB Leipzig)
The Guinea midfielder's superb pass in the build up to Marcel Sabitzer's header gave RB Leipzig the lead after just 65 seconds against Bayern Munich in a nine-goal thriller. But second-place Leipzig suffered heartache against the Bundesliga champions when Arjen Robben scored Bayern's 95th-minute winner in a 5-4 victory.
FRANCE
CHEIKH NDOYE (Angers)
The giant Angers captain with the growing reputation only made his Ligue 1 debut at 29, but the Senegalese has been a cornerstone for his club in his second season in the top flight. Ndoye raced ahead of the Nice defence to bag the opening goal with not only sheer power, but with finesse as the visitors beat Mario Balotelli's Nice 2-0 in their own back-yard. Paris-born Cameroon international Karl Toko Ekambi bagged the second late in the game.
