West Ham has been on a signing spree since the beginning of the summer transfer. Under new coach Manuel Pellegrini, the club is looking forward for a better finish this season. And the latest signings are the proof of their intentions of wanting to perform well this Premier League season.
Now let us take a look at West Ham's three summer signings who will be a sensational hit with the club.
Name: Lukasz Fabianski
Previous Club: Swansea City
Position: Goalkeeper
Age: 33
Fabianski's Premier League journey began with Arsenal in 2007, but it turned out to be a disastrous one for him. He got to play just 32 Premier League matches for the Gunners in seven years, during which he was prone to harsh criticism for his blunders on the green lush. Following which he moved to Swansea City in 2014, he became their go-to goalkeeper. Fabianski went on to represent the Swans in 150 games in all competition in the last four years.
The Polish stopper was voted Player of the Season (2017/18) by the club's supporters. This indicates how good Fabianski must have been in front of the goal post. Since the club was relegated to Championship, Fabianski did not have much of a choice other than to leave the club. With his presence at West Ham, he is sure to win over the Hammers fans with his performance.
Name: Issa Diop
Previous Club: Toulouse
Position: Defender
Age: 21
The 21-year-old youngster from France will be the one to watch out for this season. Having represented France in juniors, the central-defender made a lot of heads turn during his time at French club Toulouse.
Issa Diop was a regular at the club and got to play over 80 games, where he took on the best of strikers from Monaco, PSG, Nice, Lyon amongst others. He has managed to get his name on the scoresheet during all the three seasons he spent there. Diop will definitely turn out to be a nightmare for the opponents on the football pitch this coming season.
Name: Ryan Fredericks
Previous Club: Fulham
Position: Defender
Age: 25
Ryan Fredericks is one of those talented guys, who was underutilized by Spurs. He started his career with Tottenham Hotspur in 2010, for whom he never got to play even a single Premier League game during his five-year stint. He was mostly loaned out during his time with Spurs, following which Fredericks moved to Bristol City for a very short stint.
He left the club within a month due to personal reasons. Fredericks then moved to Championship side Fulham on a three-year contract. This move became a career-defining move for him. He proved to be a huge asset for the club and in 2017/18 season he played a major role in club's promotion back to Premier League.
Verdict
With the signings of Fabianski, Diop and Fredericks, the Hammers have sent out a stern warning to their rivals indicating that their defensive wall will be a hard one to crack this Premier League season.
