TIRUPATI: Buoyed by the success of strategic election campaigning, Chandragiri Congress nominee Galla Aruna Kumari will be on a blitzkrieg tomorrow, to ensure every voter is covered.

Disclosing the idea to mediapersons here today, Aruna’s son and managing director of AmarRaja Industries Galla Jayadev said the minister would touch as many as 100 villages in Chandragiri, Ramachandrapuram and Tirupati rural mandals tomorrow. This final touch would be completed in a record 12 hours, he added.

“Unlike traditional campaigning, this special campaigning will have the candidate making a quick speech in the village, while her followers will spread along the village, explaining the salient features of the party’s election manifesto and why people should vote for it. Once the speech is completed, she will move to the next village and this way, she will be covering 100 villages in 12 hours,’’ he explained.

He said Union Minister for Agriculture Sharad Pawar had visited 65 villages in a day in Maharashtra and set a record. In all likelihood, that record would be broken by Galla Aruna tomorrow. However, it was not for setting any records, but to save time, Jayadev clarified.

He said the special campaigning was very much possible as the candidate had already visited all the villages during her first round of electioneering.

It was only a final push, he added.

The blitzkrieg would commence at Nagalacheruvu of Chandragiri mandal at 6:30 am and conclude at Avilala in Tirupati rural mandal by 6:30 pm. Answering a query, Jayadev said they had no plans of asking actor Mahesh Babu to campaign for Aruna. In case he decided to campaign, it would be in Chandragiri first, he added.
