HYDERABAD: Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy made a mention of the friendship between him and Rajyasabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao for the first time in the public on the occasion of “Friendship day” today.

The Chief Minister recalled their four decadeold friendship and said that both of them did not hail from the same place or had any relationship till they met each other during their college. ``As our education progressed, a strong bond developed between us. He was there for me during my good and bad times. I cannot describe the unconditional love and affection he showers upon me,’’ the Chief Minister said.

Rajasekhara Reddy emphasised the need for friendship between human beings for the well-being of the world. Criticising the Opposition parties for failing to live upto the expectations of the public, he called upon them to shed their enemity and join him for development of the State. Incidentally, the Friendship Day this year coincided this year with the birth anniversary of Pingali Venkaiah, the designor of the national flag. The Chief Minister lauded the services of Venkaiah to the nation.
