HYDERABAD: Three senior IPS officers who include ACB Director General RR Girish Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (coordination) T Krishna Raju and SCRB Director S Umapathi today received the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service for the year 2008.
In all, more than 50 police officials received medals from Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy on the occasion of 63rd Independence Day celebrations at Secunderabad Parade Grounds.
APPA director CN Gopinatha Reddy, ACB director Santosh Mehra, SP Intelligence N Suryanarayana and SP Intelligence B Srinivasulu were among the recipients of police medal for meritorious service. Additional SP for Regional Vigilance and Enforcement Officer, Tirupati K Muralidhar Rao is the recipient of President’s Police Medal. Subbalakshmamma, mother of Greyhounds junior commando late MV Nageswara Rao, received the President’s Police Medal for gallantry (PPMG). DAC Reserve Inspector of Greyhounds T Ramakrishna also received the medal for gallantry.

With regard to police medal for meritorious service for 2008, the Chief Minister presented medals to retired personnel who included Additional SP, Intelligence security wing P Srinivasulu, Associate system analyst of police computer services S Venkata Ramana Murthy, DSP (PTC) of Anantapur K Krishna Reddy, DSP CID P Raj Kumar and DSP (home guards) of Cyberabad P Sudarshan.
