HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Rosaiah will leave for New Delhi tomorrow on a two-day visit. He is going there with the tough task of persuading the Union Government to release Rs 23,000 crore assistance for revival of the State economy which is facing severe financial crisis. The State Government has already submitted the damage caused by droughts and floods to the Centre.

For Rosaiah, this will be the first trip to New Delhi after being elected formally as the Congress Legislative Party leader.

Though it is scheduled earlier, the Chief Minister’s two-day visit gained importance in the wake of the ongoing agitation by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao and other pro-Telangana organisations in the State.

The Chief Minister will meet Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and also interact with MPs from the State and all senior officers belonging to Andhra Pradesh cadre to discuss the issues pertaining to the State.

Rosaiah is likely to visit several senior leaders of the party.

He may discuss Cabinet expansion and other issues regarding changes in the portfolios of the existing ministers with the high command.
