

VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike at Swaraj Maidan here for the past three days in support of united Andhra Pradesh, said that he wants to meet the students of Osmania University and discuss with them the need for united Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to newsmen here today, he said he would meet students of Osmania University soon and give a patient hearing to their argument on separate Telangana and then tell them why united Andhra Pradesh was necessary.
Citing examples of incidents during his college days, he said that he stood by his word as a student leader.
Welcoming the decision of Praja Rajyam party president Chiranjeevi to join the agitation launched in support of united Andhra Pradesh, the MP hoped that popular actor Junior NTR would also express solidarity with the ongoing agitation in support of united Andhra Pradesh.
He said Telugu Desam party president Chandrababu Naidu and leaders of CPI, BJP and even KCR would extend support to the struggle launched in support of united Andhra Pradesh.
Extending support to the fast launched by Lagadapati, NTR TDP founder Lakshmi Parvati said that senior party leaders had misguided the party high command on separate Telangana State.
Expressing concern over the Union Government's move to bifurcate the State, she said that those who want to enjoy posts were demanding separate Telangana to see KCR as chief minister. She hailed PRP leader Chiranjeevi's support to the agitation launched in support of united Andhra Pradesh and described YSR as a true leader.
She criticised TDP president Chandrababu Naidu for his failure to make his stand clear on united State.
