HYDERABAD: Anticipating more trouble in view of the volatile situation prevailing in the region, the officials have virtually turned the Raj Bhavan, the residence of the Chief Minister, the State Legislative Assembly and the State Secretariat into fortressess.
Central forces like Rapid Action Force (RAF) and Central Reserved Police Forces (CRPF) along with the State police have been deployed in large numbers at these places.
The Central forces have been pressed into service across the Telangana region especially in the City as a precautionary measure. Wired fencing, barricades, and armed personnel are already kept in force. While the Raj Bhavan, the Chief Minister's residence and the State Legislative Assembly are open to only designated visitors, the police have restricted entry of persons without valid identity cards into the State Secretariat.
Large number of RAF and CRPF personnel were deployed at the Raj Bhavan following a `sex scandal' broadcasted by a news channel, while the Central forces were assisted by the local police at the remaining places.
“The security has been stepped up at all places including the houses of some people's representatives upon their request keeping in view of the volatile situation. The forces will remain at these places till further orders when the situation turns peaceful,'' said a CRPF official at the State Secretariat.
Even some Ministers and other people's representatives are learnt to have requested for Central forces to be deployed at their residences including MLA Quarters anticipating trouble from agitators and pro-Telangana organisations. The officials are deploying the personnel as per requirement on these requests.
