HYDERABAD: A GO issued by the Andhra Pradesh Government has included the Lingayat community in the Backward Castes list. The GO, issued today, has found the caste `Veeerashaiva lingayat/lingabalija’ to be socially and educationally backward enough to be given special provisions according to the Constituion. A report submitted by the AP Commission for Backward CLasses found the community fit for inclusion in the BC list.
