HYDERABAD: The Praja Rajyam Party has decided to continue with its social justice slogan despite the electoral setback.

The three-day meeting of the party’s Political Affairs Committee ended today here with party president Chiranjeevi reiterating that social justice would continue to be PRP’s main agenda. The party was of the opinion that they failed to take the social justice slogan effectively to the grassroots level.

The organisational structure was also not built strongly while there was a clear lack of co-ordination between actual PRP workers and leaders who defected from other parties.

The meeting felt that now it is the opportune time for the party to take the slogans to the people.

The party has to improve its vote bank in every election and would emerge as a major force by the next elections. There is a need to pursue a two pronged strategy, one on behalf of the party and the other on behalf of the legislature party, the PAC felt. While the party would take care of vote bank, the legislative party would take up issues relating to party.

The PRP had in a way won the elections as it had bagged 17.3 per cent vote-share. This was a great achievement as more than 70 lakh voters solidly supported the party. There was enormous public support for the party but they could not be converted into votes, the PAC felt.
