HYDERABAD: T Venkattram Reddy, chairman of Deccan Chronicle, has been elected president of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) for 2009-10 at its 70th annual general meeting held here on Thursday. He succeeds Hormusji N Cama of Bombay Samahcar Weekly.
Kundan R Vyas (Vyapar, Mumbai) is the deputy president while Ashis Bagga (India Today) is vice-president and Rakesh Sharma (Hindustan Times, Patna) is the honorary treasurer. V Shankaran will be the officiating secretary general of INS.
According to a news statement issued by Shankaran, the executive committee will have 41 members.
