HYDERABAD: The State Cabinet shows a mix of experience and youth. A single thread of loyalty to the Congress and YS Rajasekhara Reddy mark the entire team.

  K Rosaiah: A veteran in the State politics, Konijeti Rosaiah began his political career under the tutelage of Prof N G Ranga and C Rajagopalachari’s Swatantra party. He was one among the trio (the others being M Vankaiah Naidu, S Jaipal Reddy) who made the then chief minister M Channa Reddy’s life difficult in the late 70s. He switched his loyalties to the Congress later and was regular member of the Congress Government from 1989 to 1994. Seventy- year-old Rosaiah was first elected to the Legislative Council in 1968. Later in 1974 and 80. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Council in 1978.

Gade Venkata Reddy : Another veteran Congress leaders who contested and won as legislator for a re cord 1 1 times. After a long gap he became MLA in 1989. Since then he never looked back. He was member of the Constituencies Delimitation Committee.

He took his law degree from Osmania University in 1962 and practised as an advocate in Ongole.

He is a staunch intergrationist and opposed to separate Telangana State.

Ponnala LaksHmaiah : Lakshmaiah, 60, an engineering graduate from the US was initiated into politics by former prime minister P V Na r a s imh a Rao. In the past he worked as minister but for one year 1991-92.

He handled Major Irrigation ministry under Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. A staunch YSR loyalist, Lakshmaiah strongly defended Jalayagnam and other irrigation projects launched by the government.

Kanna Lakshminarayana : He hails from a political family in Pedakurapadu in Guntur district.

Starting his career as a Youth Congress leader, Kanna Lakshminarayana won for four times as MLA from Pedakurapadu constituency. In the recent elections he shifted from Pedakurapadu to Guntur West and won. He was Transport Minister in the outgoing Cabinet.

N Raghuveera Reddy : Once a staunch follower of J C Diwakar Reddy, changed his loyalties to Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. A BC by caste, Raghuvera Reddy, 47, is from Neelakantapuram in Madakasira mandal of Anantapur district. He was Agriculture Minister in the outgoing Cabinet.

Dharmana Prasada Rao : He i s f rom Mabagam in Srikakulam district.

Prasada Rao started his political innings as a sarpanch.

In 1999 he was the only Congress member elected from the district in 1999.

J Geeta Reddy: A medical doctor by profession, Dr. Geetha Reddy, 56, is the daughter of Eswari Bai, leader of the Republican Party of India. From busy medical practice, Geetha entered active politics as a follower of former chief minister M Chenna Reddy. She was for some time, APCC Mahila Congress president.

She was Minister for Tourism and later became Minister for Major Industries.

Sabita Indra Reddy: She was forced to enter active politics soon after her husband Indra Reddy’s untimely death in a road accident. Affectionately called by Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as Chevella Chellamma (Chevella sister), she won two times from Chevella and this time around she contested from Maheswaram constituency.

D K Aruna: D K Aruna’s father C Narsi Reddy was a long time legislator who was killed by Maoists.

Her husband Bharatasimha Reddy was also MLA from Gadwal.

In the last elections (2004) she won on Samajwadi Party ticket. She won for three times.

Sunitha Laxma Reddy : This is for the third time she won the election as MLA. Following her husband Laxmareddy’s death Sunitha was given ticket from Narasapur in Medak district.

Konda Surekha : Wife of former Naxalite Murali, Surekha became PCC member in 1996. She was Geesukonda MPTC in 1995.

Since 1999 she has been winning as MLA.

Galla Arunakumari : Graduate from Lake View University, USA, Aruna hails from a political family and her father Rajagopala Naidu played an important role in Chittoor district politics.

He was Chandrababu Naidu’s mentor. Her family owns Amar Raja Batteries Manufacturing company. She was also Mahila Congress president for sometime.

D Sridhar Babu: Sridhar, M A , M P h i l holder and diploma in Computers, entered active politics following the killing of his father former AP Assembly Speaker D Sripada Rao by Naxalites.

He was Karimnagar DCC president twice and member of AICC. His wife Sailaja is an IAS officer.

P Ramachandra Reddy : A PhD holder Ram a c h a n d r a Reddy was in politics since 1978 and is a strong man in Chittoor district.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy : A B Tech degree holder from the CBIT, Venkatreddy began his political carer as Youth Congress leade r. He was Youth Congress general secretary in 1994. This is his third successive win.

Anam Ramnarayan Reddy : Ramnarayana Reddy a l s o comes from a political family.

A basketball player, Ramnarayana Reddy was minister in NT Rama Rao’s Cabinet in 1989. He was TDP MLA in 1983, 85, 89 and since 1999 he has been getting elected on the Congress ticket.

D Nagender : A degre holder, Nagender started as Youth Congress leade r and was MLA from Asifnagar in 1994 and 1999. In 2004, he contested on TDP ticket and won but later quit TDP to join the Congress. But he lost in the byelection. A YSR follower, he was made president of the Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee.

M Mukesh Goud : He was Youth Congress general secretary in 1983. In 1989 he was elected from Maharajgunj constituency to the Assembly.

He be c ame Minister 2007.

C Damoder Rajanarsimha: Son of Congress leader Rajanarsimha, Damoder is a civil engineering graduate. In 1989 he won from Andole constituency.

He was S C Corporation Chairman in 1991. In 2007 he became a Minister.

P Balaraju: In 1989 he won from Paderu Constituency.

He was once kidnapped by the Naxalites, and his release was negotiated by civil rights activists Kannabiran.

He was also chairman of the Coffee Board. He is also APCC ST cell convenor.

Botcha Satyanarayana: Though he lost from Chipurupalli constitutency in 1996 and 1998, he was elected as MP in 1 9 9 9 from Bobbili.

He won from Chipurupalli in 2004 and became a Minister for Major Industries later on shifted to Housing.

Shatrucherla Vijayarama Raju : Shatrucherla Vi j ayarama Raju, 5 6 , is f rom Chinnamedangi in Vizianagaram district. A fivetime MLA from Parvatipuram he did his Pre University Certificate. A lover of nature, Vijayarama Raju was Minister for Forests in the outgoing Cabinet.

Pilli Subashchandra Bose: He started his political career in 1970 and became Hasnabad village sarpanch in 1988.

Elected as MLA on Congress ticket from Ramachandrapuram s e g m e n t i n 1989. Elected as inde pendent candidate from the same segment in 2004 elections and later went into the Congress fold and became Minister for Social Welfare.

Pinipe Viswaroop: Son of Reddi Panthul u , bor n on 02.10.1962 in Giddavaripeta of Nadavapalli village in Katrenikona mandal of East Godavari district.

He has studied B.Sc, B.Ed. Congress Party SC/ST cell State Convenor in 1985. Elected from Mummidivaram (SC) Assembly segment in 2004 elections. Elected from Amalapuram (SC) Assembly constituency in 2009 elections.

Ahmedullah: A close associate of TSR family, Ahemdulla was Kadapa Municipality chairman in 2000. He was Youth Congress member in 1977 and became District Congress Committee vice president in 1997. He was also Wakf Board Chairman 1992-94.

He was elected to Assembly in 2004.

B Srinivas Reddy : A B Com graduate, Srinivas Reddy was Youth Congress president from 1995-98, District Congress Committee president from 1998- 2001. He was elected to the Assembly in 1999 from Ongole. This is his third term in the Assembly.

K Parthasarathy: An engineering graduate, Parthasarathy entered politics in 1991. His father K P Reddiah was a former MP from Machilipatnam. In 2001 byelection he lost from Vuyyuru constituency. In 2004 he won from Penamaluru constitue n c y f rom where he got elected this time also.

P Satyanarayana : A businessman by profession, Satyanarayana, was MLA from Penugonda and now he g o t elected from Achanta.

M Venkataramana : He represented Kuchinapudi constituency in the last term, Following its disaapearance due to delimitation, he contested from Repalle and won. He was Minister for Infrastrcture and Ports in the outgoing Cabinet.

D Manikya Vara Prasad : A LLM holder, Manikya Vara Prasada Rao was MRPS activist.

He was MLA for two terms f rom Tadikonda in 2004 and 09.

J Krishna Rao: A degree holder, Krishna Rao was elected for third time to the Assembly from Kollapur in Mahaboobnagar district.

Vatti Vasanthkumar: Hails from a political family, Vasanthkumar is a loyalist of YSR.

He won from Ungu t u r i n 2004 elections.
